as a life long woodworker I want to one day do an authentic tung oil and shellac violin type finish on the wood of a fine firearm. I feel I mastered the technique well enough. No other finish creates the same glow and is so simple to repair. It's very gratifying to buy your own fresh shellac flakes and creating the finish yourself

Woodcraft has pure tung oil, stuff takes forever to cure. I buy a slow denatured alcohol from Sherwin Williams for shellac, lots of coats and sanding. Boiled Linseed oil is my favorite for firearms.
