In 5.56mm the AR15 is easy to bump fire with a little practice and there are several legal bump fire adapters available.
Some folks have been seen using the rubber band method which I'm fairly sure is illegal.
But I also believe that it's nearly impossible to bump fire any rimfire.
As to internal full auto modifications, I have no idea how this is done.

Yeah, I'll have to recend my statement. I've also seen some rimfires being bumpfired on YouTube as well.

In an attempt at a "trigger job" on my Colt/Umarex M4, I accidentally achieved that condition. I promptly returned the trigger to OEM condition, and sent it to Bill Springfield for his professional attention. It is now about 4.5 lbs pull and crisp.
